Somalia’s President convenes urgent meeting with international partners in Mogadishu

President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud has called an urgent meeting with international representatives and foreign diplomats based in Mogadishu, according to an official communication from the government.

In a letter issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, diplomats and international organisations operating in Somalia were invited to attend a high-level briefing at the presidential palace, known as Villa Somalia.

The meeting, scheduled for Monday, March 30 at 11:00am local time, is expected to focus on the latest developments in the country. Officials say the session forms part of ongoing efforts by the federal government to keep international partners informed about the evolving situation, particularly in South West State.

While details of the agenda have not been fully disclosed, the gathering underscores the government’s attempt to maintain close coordination with global partners amid shifting political and security dynamics in the region.

The briefing comes at a time when Somalia continues to navigate complex internal challenges, with federal authorities seeking to reinforce diplomatic engagement and ensure continued international support.
